You know the story- Boy meets girl only in Kate and David's case the girl met the boy half a world away! Seven years ago expat Kate left Melbourne for a study stint in Germany, in a small town near Berlin. On the dance floor one night she met a rather charming German boy named David, who was also studying.
One of the marvels of life I find is the fact that you never know what's just around the corner. When Kate went over to Germany for just a few months all those years ago the last thing she thought she would find was the love of her life, David (and a truly awesome human being at that if I may say so myself!)
Fast forward seven years and Kate and David said "I do" in a cute ceremony with their families and close friends in Köpenick, a sweet little town east of Berlin. The day was such a huge pleasure to be part of and Kate and David made sure every little aspect on the day was an extension of what they love and value, drawing upon their creative talents and equally talented friends and family.
Kate and David attended a ring making workshop, fashioning each other's wedding rings, Kate created her own bouquet and hand made her beautiful fascinator. David's granny made their wedding cake (with Kate making their cute little cake topper). Kate's dad, a musician played with the Jazz band, Kate's friend back in Australia sewed all the bunting for the day- and the list goes on!
It was such an amazing experience photographing in Berlin and I feel so honoured to have been a special part of Kate and David's day.
